2010 Oscar Picks

I feel bad. I wanted my first real blog post on here to be about something deep and/or funny. I apologize, for it is instead going to contain my Oscar picks for 2010. *cheesy thumbs up*

Best Picture:
The Hurt Locker

This was a matter of me picking what movies I didn't want to win. For example, if Avatar, The Blind Side, District 9, or Up win, I might throw an internal bitch fit.

Actor in a Leading Role:

Jeff Bridges

I picked Jeff Bridges because I heard he did well in this film, and also because he's been nominated a few times and never won. I just have a feeling that the people of the academy just want him to win. However, I personally would just LOVE too see Colin Firth win for his role in A Single Man. Fingers crossed.

Actor in a Supporting Role:
Christoph Waltz

I'm pretty sure it's not even going to be close on this one. It would be pretty bad ass to see Woody Harrelson with this one though.

Actress in a Leading Role:
Gabourey Sidibe

So help me God, if Sandra Bullock wins this year for her "White woman saves the day" role in The Blindside, I will have a hard time taking this ceremony seriously.

Actress in a Supporting Role:
Mo'Nique

I'm just trying to figure out if there's anyway anyone else could win this. I'm about 90% sure on this one.

Animated Feature Film:
Up

Would like to see Coraline win this, but I'm pretty sure there's no way that's happening. It'll either go to Up (since that seems to be the mainstream choice) or Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Art Direction:

Avatar

Avatar rules/ruins the day

Cinematography:
Avatar

Avatar rules/ruins the day

Costume Design:
The Young Victoria

Directing:
Kathryn Bigelow

I don't care about this one so much as long as they don't give it to James Cameron... I just have a feeling the might though.

Documentary Feature:
The Cove

Documentary Short:
China's Unnatural Disaster: The Tears of Sichuan Province

Celebs are all about natural disasters nowadays.

Film Editing:
Avatar

Avatar rules/ruins the day

Foreign Language Film:
The White Ribbon

Makeup:
Star Trek

Had to sneak in the nerd somewhere. Plus, Spock's ears FTW!

Music (Original Score):
Sherlock Holmes

Music (Original Song):

Crazy Heart "The Weary Kind"

Short Film (Animated):

A Matter of Loaf and Death

Wallace and Gromit FTW!!!

Short Film (Live Action)
The New Tenants

Sound Editing:
Star Trek

I chose Star Trek because I just can't bare the thought of Avatar winning all of these awards... even though it probably will.

Sound Mixing:

Visual Effects:

Writing (Adapted Screenplay):
Up in the Air

Writing (Original Screenplay):
A Serious Man

But I have a feeling it will go to Inglorious Basterds
