Woke up this morning, and I felt like I needed some sort of artistic-outlet activity. So I decided to break out the colored pencils and draw a bit. First, it was a couple of scribbles, but then I decided to draw Julia Nunes in on of her videos,
It turned out like this:
...which is ok. Not bad for not having done anything like this in a loooong time. It's hard to see the shading, and I hate the lines of the composition notebook, but oh well! Oh, and I don't know if you can tell, but I colored it in purple.
Well, now I have to go clean the bathroom. Dad and I are planning on going to play D&D tonight. Woooooooooooooooo....
Well, I arrived at the PC campus at 7:30 even though my first class didn't start until 10:00. Dad had to use the car today so he dropped me off before he went to work... I found my classrooms, timed myself from one class to the other... 5 minutes! I sat around a while, went to the library, verified my schedule, and ran into this nice girl who is always our waitress at Fattoush! I basically spent 15-20 minutes listening to her and this other man speak in what i can only guess is Arabic. So beautiful sounding!
Math was interesting with only one minor incident. When asked what we were good at, I said making breakfast. Then a guy in the back said that he was good at eating breakfast... to which my professor replied, "Oh! You and Amanda should get together!" Yikes! Does being good at making breakfast imply that you are a ho? Am I missing something??? Anyway, Then I went to my last class of the day, which was Bio Lab. That was 2 hours and 45 minutes looooong! And that was torturous, but I got through it. Then I walked home. It took me about 30 minutes to cover the 1 mile. Anyway, I don't have a lot of homework, none that is due tomorrow anyway, but I'm going to ask my parents if we can go to Fattoush to celebrate my first day of school! Mshkala, here I come!
Ashley's coming over at 11 am today. I know, right? How on earth did I get her to agree to leave her bed before noon? It's a miracle! I'm not exactly sure what we'll do. I should probably clean my room before she arrives. It's a sty! Perhaps I will quarantine her in the living room. Hmmmm...
Saturday is going to be very busy day indeed! First, from 8am-12pm, I have orientation at PC. Then, around 1pm, we've got the August birthday party followed by a dinner for Carole put on by her co-workers from the branch she's leaving. There will be absolutely no time to breathe tomorrow!
Sunday, Ashley and I plan on taking the lightrail up to ASU and visit Tabitha earlier in the day. Plus, I need to bet more supplies for school (backpack, clothes). So, I'm definitely going to be busy this weekend. Today, I suppose, wont be too trying (it's just Ashley)... I just have to let Carole know that we'll be having a visitor today. She has yet to find out. Oh, Amanda, you're so baaaaaad!
In closing, I leave you with this. Edith Piaf singing "Non, Je ne Regrette Rien," a beautiful song! If you ever get the chance, La Vie en Rose is a lovely movie. :)
Everything's happening so fast around here! Oh no! Tabitha's move-in day is upon us, and we wish her well with her new adventures that are sure to come at ASU! Today is also the last Sunday (last day, actually) in which I will see Bethany before she goes off to UA! I know that I ought to be happy, but I can't help but feel a bit down because these girls, including Ashley, have all been the nicest girls, the best friends that anyone could ask for. But then, I suppose this is cause for some joy! Since I know we are all such good friends, I am assured that we will keep in contact.
Okay, I can breathe now! Good luck to all of my ladies! I love ya! :D Oh, and I know that this is Ashley's picture, but I LOVE IT!! And after all, isn't friendship about sharing??? XD
Woah! Was that title morbid or what? Perhaps I should explain. On Friday, I drove my dad to St. Joseph's for a minor surgery procedure. He wasn't even loopy by the time I was able to visit him in the recovery room! Well, maybe a little. So I took him home after picking up the prescribed medication and we watched Slap Shot. He was cheery, but we both became tired, so I went to my room to lie down. An hour later, I heard a crash. "Uuuuhhh, that had better not have been dad..." I thought. I called his name 4 times and he didn't answer. Suspicious. So I got up, turned the corner into the dining room and there was my father on the floor, just starting to move. Well, Sh**. Anyway, he hit his head on the table, which gave him quite a nasty cut on the side of his eye. I had to pull Zoe away from the blood before she could lick it up... ew! So I cleaned him up, walked him over to the couch and stayed with him a while before I went to Safeway to pick up some butterfly stitches. He's feeling a lot better now, even though the bruise on his forehead is grosser looking than it was a couple of days ago. Anyways, I took care of him for the rest of the weekend while Carole was on vacation. This guy owes me big! Carole came home Sunday, and asked me to go to the QT to pick up a gallon of milk. It was dark out, and the rental car was parked behind Carole's car, so I ran into the cactus. Ow, ow, F***ityow! Went inside and dad andCarole took turns at pulling out the numerous cactus needles from my ankle and toes. I think dad might have pulled some leg hairs on accident. Those hurt more than the needles. So, since I have no job and no real responsibilities (other than taking care of my dad, feeding the dogs, picking up poo, putting water in the fountain for the birds and water in a bowl for the feral neighborhood cats, cleaning bathroom) I've been scouting for good movies and TV shows that I can watch on Netflix. Right now, I'm very much attached to Dexter! I'm season 2 already, about halfway through. Dexter is a serial killer who only kills bad people (no, no, I mean really bad people). But not like an assassin... obviously. Just on his own terms. I just find it pretty interesting how these writers have the ability to make this supposed monster not only likable, but respectable. I've been listening to some unreleased tracks by Amanda Palmer. Some of my favorites are 1.1.94 The Point of it All You May Kiss the Bride I Will Follow You into the Dark Straight Have to Drive I especially love the tracks in green:)
I really should go to bed now. I have to get to the hospital at 6am tomorrow. What? Which means we leave the house at 5:30. Ahhhh!!! Looks like I'll be sleeping in the waiting room! Yup... pray that I don't contract some sort of nosocomial disease... wait, can you only use the word nosocomial in regards to an infection or can it be a disease such as a cold as well? Shoot. This is going to bother me now... Oh... um. You're still here, are you? And you're probably very confused (if you're not, I applaud you). Just... um... just Google it, or something. I don't have time to explain it to you now. I've got to get my rest!
So my fingers have been itching to make a new video. I filmed it today and started editing it around 11 PM. I finished around 4 AM. I was going to wait to upload it until tomorrow but I figured... I do have a couple of viewers in other countries. Across the seas! So, now it's processing, and I'm hoping to God that it doesn't look squished like my last two videos looked :\ It's about my top 10 favorite movies. I know that there were so many other films (especially ones I had just seen recently) that I wanted to put in the top 10, but I just had to go with my gut feeling.
Some of the movies that didn't make the cut: Kung Fu Hustle Phoebe in Wonderland Knocked Up Bridget Jones's Diary Earth Girls are Easy Kinamand Die Hard (OMIGOD WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THIS?) Napoleon Dynamite Dr. Strangelove
Just checked up on my video. It just uploaded... and... it's squished like heckers! Ah, now I have to render it again! :( I'm going to try AVI this time.
This evening, Bear decided to run through the sprinklers, which is very unlike him! I thought that maybe he just got caught in the middle of the grass when they turned on... but he was absolutely soaked, and when he came in he was so wiggly and excited! Weird!
