Woah! Was that title morbid or what? Perhaps I should explain. On Friday, I drove my dad to St. Joseph's for a minor surgery procedure. He wasn't even loopy by the time I was able to visit him in the recovery room! Well, maybe a little. So I took him home after picking up the prescribed medication and we watched Slap Shot. He was cheery, but we both became tired, so I went to my room to lie down. An hour later, I heard a crash. "Uuuuhhh, that had better not have been dad..." I thought. I called his name 4 times and he didn't answer. Suspicious. So I got up, turned the corner into the dining room and there was my father on the floor, just starting to move. Well, Sh**.
Anyway, he hit his head on the table, which gave him quite a nasty cut on the side of his eye. I had to pull Zoe away from the blood before she could lick it up... ew! So I cleaned him up, walked him over to the couch and stayed with him a while before I went to Safeway to pick up some butterfly stitches. He's feeling a lot better now, even though the bruise on his forehead is grosser looking than it was a couple of days ago.
Anyways, I took care of him for the rest of the weekend while Carole was on vacation. This guy owes me big!
Carole came home Sunday, and asked me to go to the QT to pick up a gallon of milk. It was dark out, and the rental car was parked behind Carole's car, so I ran into the cactus. Ow, ow, F***ity ow! Went inside and dad and Carole took turns at pulling out the numerous cactus needles from my ankle and toes. I think dad might have pulled some leg hairs on accident. Those hurt more than the needles.
So, since I have no job and no real responsibilities (other than taking care of my dad, feeding the dogs, picking up poo, putting water in the fountain for the birds and water in a bowl for the feral neighborhood cats, cleaning bathroom) I've been scouting for good movies and TV shows that I can watch on Netflix. Right now, I'm very much attached to Dexter! I'm season 2 already, about halfway through. Dexter is a serial killer who only kills bad people (no, no, I mean really bad people). But not like an assassin... obviously. Just on his own terms. I just find it pretty interesting how these writers have the ability to make this supposed monster not only likable, but respectable.
I've been listening to some unreleased tracks by Amanda Palmer. Some of my favorites are
1.1.94
The Point of it All
You May Kiss the Bride
I Will Follow You into the Dark
Straight
Have to Drive
I especially love the tracks in green:)
Well, that's all for now! Adios!
